Architects of the Digital World Meet in Istanbul
As part of the MediaFit project, the Media Literacy Youth Forum will be held in Istanbul on January 19, 2026, with the aim of enhancing the media literacy skills of youth and youth workers. This forum is a key component of a comprehensive vision designed to transform participants from passive content consumers into "Informed Digital Citizens" who possess critical thinking skills and the ability to combat misinformation effectively.
The interactive workshops and sessions scheduled for the forum will cover a wide range of topics, from understanding the complex structure of disinformation to establishing digital ethics. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge on analyzing fake news, building resilience against information pollution, and managing their digital footprints safely. Furthermore, the event seeks to foster digital competence across participating communities, laying the groundwork for sustainable cross-border partnerships and long-term media awareness.
Our project extends beyond this forum, supported by the Youth Media Literacy Bootcamp for intensive training and the Media Awareness Community Outreach campaign targeting local high schools and social media. Following this gathering in Istanbul, we expect participants to emerge as media-savvy individuals capable of creating responsible digital content and promoting positive media practices. We invite all stakeholders to join us in this collective effort to foster a healthier, more resilient, and more competent digital media environment for the future.
